The Confucian Learning Concepts
At the beginning of this new semester, Yingcai University invited Professor Xiaoxian Liu from Shandong University to give a lecture on ’Confucian learning concept’ in the academic lecture hall of the South Campus. Kunli Wang, deputy secretary of the school delegation, and Lulu Han, the teacher of the student union, attended the report. Chao Xu, from the school delegation, served as the host of the report. More than 300 students from secondary school participated in the report.
At the beginning of the report, Xu Chao introduced The Confucius Institute of Yingcai. It was founded by the Youth League Committee of Shandong Yingcai University. The goal of this institute is promoting Chinese traditional culture and inheriting and promoting the culture of Confucianism. Xu also gave Professor Xiaoxian Liu a warmly welcome. In his report, Professor Liu gave a profound and comprehensive explanation of "learning" and "study" in <The Analects>. He stated the concept of ‘learning’ and explained the connotation of learning by interpreting many famous sayings and historical allusions.
Professor Liu talked about how to guide students to have a clear understanding of life by having a meaningful school life and knowing own changes. He said that students need to establish a correct outlook and values on life. As a student, you need to study hard and practice things you learn in the school. Everyone has a chance to be successful, don't miss out the opportunity because of your own fault.
From this nearly two hours report, students learned a lot and absorbed the excellent cultural connotations of Confucianism. This report helped Yingcai to create a strong atmosphere of learning Chinese excellent traditional culture and strengthen the ideological and moral standard of students. It also helped school to enhance the effectiveness of school moral education.
Confucius Institute provides a platform and opportunity for our students to feel and learn traditional culture. It is an educational base with the purpose of promoting Chinese traditional culture and inheriting and promoting Confucian culture.
