The 13th "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge National Competition was successfully held during 15th July to 20th,2019.   More than 10,000 teachers and students from the 4000 teams of nearly 600 colleges and universities attended this competition. Our electrical major students participated in competition. After four days of fierce competition, the undergraduate team won one special prize and one third prize; the higher vocational group won the second prize.

This competition is funded by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance Quality Engineering Project. The event was founded in 2006, and it is a national Class A event under the strategic cooperation framework signed by the Ministry of Education and Siemens. This competition  is based on the automation engineering project. It aims to train and select the technology and innovative talents for the development of intelligent manufacturing. It is the largest student competition industrial automation engineering field in China.

The discrete industry automation competition, with 6 10-story elevators as the controlled object, uses Siemens 1200 PLC to program the controller to simulate the real elevator. It requires students to complete the basic functions and safety requirements of the elevator. Through programming, reduce waiting time to achieve reasonable dispatch of elevators during peak hours and off-peak hours. They use WINCC to make PC interface design to monitor elevator operation in real time. The participate teams need to follow the requirements of the review experts to complete the workflow. And experts judge the team according to the implementation of the task. The competition is far more difficult than before this year.

The leaders of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering paid great attention on this competition, have put a lot of effort into it. During the competition, although the teachers and students struggled with the tremendous pressure of high elimination rate, they achieved great results. Students' innovative ability, practical ability and cooperation ability also got improved through this competition.
